I mentioned in my post yesterday, that I might try and use the image that I created on the Wordle site, as part of a new journal project. Today, after a bit of a fight with my printer, I finally managed to print out another wabi-sabi creation on paper that was thick enough to use on the cover and I decided on a coptic style binding with some nice blue linen thread. I particularly like this style of journal, as they open really flat and are consequently easy to use.
Last week, I had a large delivery of paper from John Purcell Paper in London, which is for the text pages of my handbound journals, so this project was a chance to try that out too. All in all I was quite pleased with the results. See what you think.

Your new book looks great.
It has nice clean lines and looks like it's just waiting to be written or sketched in.
I too had great fun with the Wordle website. Looks like lots of other people have found their way there too.
Thanks for sharing.
What with that and colour junction I'll never be away from my PC.

Wow. You just made that? It's gorgeous! I've always thought of making books as a "must have a big machine" type of activity. It honestly hadn't occurred to me that it can be a beautiful handmade art. I am heading over to your Etsy shop...

So glad you liked the Wordle journal, Sandie. I can thoroughly recommend the craft of bookbinding, it is endlessly fascinating and very satisfying. Maybe you could take a class or do a weekend workshop somewhere nearby?
